Scope and Contents The book celebrates 21 years of the Archetype Press and relates to the legal drinking age of 21. Each page is a typographic recipe for an alcholic beverage. It was produced by undergraduate students at the Art Center College Archetype Press under the direction of Gloria Kondrup. The Sackner copy of the book is the hard cover limited edition version. The other copies are soft cover books. By spreading open the cover one can read the following: "lay open this book - and you will see - typophilia - undisguised - a quaint affliction - illustrated - by mesostich - paeans to - the queen of letters." Each double opened page is printed with a different font of the letter Q and with a large stylized reproduction of part of the font. Esther K Smith was the art director and Dikko Faust did the letterpress and typography for this bookwork by Happersett. The colophon states that "This series of mathematical drawings is based on growth and decay patterns of twigs and the Fibonacci sequence," The books are entitled, "Twig," "Leaf," "Conch," "Bloeman" and "Sprout." Each page of the books is made with additional calligraphic strokes using a progressive Fibonacci sequence page by page to connote the natural history of growth of the plants mentioned in the titles.. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

Renate Habinger (1957-born in St. Polten ) is an Austrian graphic designer and picture book illustrator .Renate Habinger studied from 1971 to 1975 Graphic Design at the Higher Graphic Federal Education and Research Institute and has since worked as a freelance artist. In 1997 she directed in Oberndorf at the Melk a paper workshop, the "Schneiderhausl", and since then there has workshops in papermaking for children, adolescents and adults. Since 2008, there is an annual summer school for children's book illustration instead. The main text on each page is printed in black ink with wood blocks. The smaller text is letterpress in red ink. Each page contains a collage of found fragments enclosed with acetate. Carbone writes in the colophon that we should "observe each piece, bit, scrap, chip, sliver, particle - reduced to tarnished, withered, warped, punctured, frayed, mared, burned, brused, violated, gnawed, impaired, dog-eared, decrepted, corroded, fragments."
